Thank you all so much for the very kind thoughts and wishes. David and I both appreciate them.
D. flew to his parents today, taking the scarf with him. As he knitted, the flight attendant ribbed him about how much progress he still had left to make before the holidays. "Hurry up! Christmas knitting!" she said, clearly either a knitter or a close relative of one. "It is already past Thanksgiving!"
Oh...yes.... Yikes...!

What is worse than Christmas knitting.. is the Hannukah knitting! Hannukah falls on the 15th this year.. eep!
Good think I am not giving handknit chanuckah gifts this year!
My thoughts are with you and your husband during this difficult time.
HA I was about to say the same thing...it's really charming hearing about everyone's Christmas knitting deadlines when mine come 10 days earlier! Gah!
FX that things go well...I look forward to seeing lace knitting (and MIL health) progress notes!
Wasn't going to give that many hand knit Chanukkah gifts this year.....but... The Baby wants a scarf, Elder Child wants a sweater, Brother wants a sweater (both of these guys are over 6'4" and hefty), Husband deserves more socks...you see where this is going. Isn't it funny how nice Stews are to knitters? Glad your hubby had a little extra niceness at this time.
