Aaahhk!

All had been progressing smashingly with the Shetland Triangle. I was trying out Knit Picks Options for the first time, loving the smooth joins and the sharp tips. Glory, glory.

And then suddenly I felt a slight catch on the yarn, less catch than is standard on some needles but something I had not felt at all since casting on with these needles.

So I looked--

and the needle had come apart, leaving loose lace to fend for itself:

The join between the connections held just fine--but the cord had pulled out of its connector piece.

Luckily, it was easy to get the stitches transferred to a pair of Addis. I think the shock might help me get back to the sweater....

Oh NO!! Have you spoken to KnitPicks yet? I'm very interested in how they deal with this. It'll be a critical display of customer service (or disservice). Good luck!

oh the painful carnage of those photos -- good thing you noticed quickly and were able to transfer the stitches. I am sure that knitpicks will take care of it. I am not sure how I feel about them as a company (labor practices and all that) but they do worry about customer service and are usually great taking care of things.

AAAAIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!

That happened to me once with a super-expensive pair of those fancy ebony needles (which fortunately I'd got at a huge discount anyway at a going-out-of-business sale), and that was traumatizing, but it wasn't *lace*. I join the legions who are waiting with baited breath to see what KnitPicks says. I haven't ordered my options set yet, but I've been daydreaming about it for ages - really just waiting for xmas to roll around to justify the purchase. Hmm....

Oh, no no no. My throat caught as I realized that was lace you lost. So happy to hear that all is fixed now.

(hides eyes from carnage) that's terrible! I hope that KnitPicks sends you a replacement.. I've heard people complaining on blogs about them lately (knitpicks.. not the needles) and I'm curious to see what they do.

Ack! I haven't had that problem yet with my knitpicks options needles - and they've gotten a lot of use lately. Great "catch" on getting all the stitches back though!

Holy cow!!! That's the first time I've heard of that happening. Hopefully it was just that set...I'd hate to think that the whole line is a bust. It all seemed so promising!

Nice save, though!

Oh, no! I'm so glad you could get the stitches picked up. Some yarns aren't very accommmodating.
