We grilled burgers (bought from our dairy provider) alongside produce from the farmer's market (white sweet potatoes, asparagus, and a very special tomato):
And to drink? Mac Jack Hard Cider that we picked up from a winery in Vermont during our visit last summer.
Delicious! What a wonderful way to begin the summer.

Yum! Seeing your lovely food photos makes me even more sad that we can't get local produce here.
That looks wonderful! I can't wait for our CSA pickups to start.
Looks delicious!
We had a very similar meal recently... whole wheat potato rolls, local hamburg, potato & carrot salads, plus homemade elderberry wine. It's so satisfying to be able to eat so well from such a small foodshed (mostly the backyard except for the beef). What was even more satisfying was sharing the meal with friends.
Just a few weeks to go before OLS, I guess I better do a little planning (and make an official announcement!).
everything looks SO YUM!!!! these posts are inspiring me to re-think the volunteering at a local organic farm on fridays. i really love reading about the choices you and your family make to support local producers and cottage industries and our planet!!! it's really refreshing and i honor you all!
