I was knitting with 100% silk from Woven Gems, bought at the Virginia Fall Fiber Festival. How would the yarn block out? Would the silk hold the block? If this thing wasn't really beautiful, I was going to be annoyed after all we went through together...

I shouldn't have worried.

Gorgeous!
Your shawl is just lovely. I have some silk that I got at MDSW (Tess Designer Yarns), and I was wondering how it would block, just as you did. Seeing your result has given me confidence that mine will turn out fine as well.
So elegant, and so wonderful! Beautiful work, H! (yummy wine too!)
absolutely gorgeous. I just finished my first lace shawl - I still have to block it out. It's amazing to me how the blocking changes it from a lump of knitting into a piece of lace
Pretty!!! The color is grea as well.
This is the first really good look I took at the lace between the body of the shawl and the border. I'm swooning!
Beautiful work, and well worth the effort.
Stunning! Great job.
I'm so glad I read this. I have the same yarn and I've been wondering how it would block. Seeing your results I feel hopeful. Your shawl is beautiful!
It's gorgeous. So, so beautiful and worth it. Me, I'm still fearful of lace!!
Truly Gorgeous!!!

Oh no, it just needed to be blocked! It looks glorious.
Wow!!!!! That is just the most beautiful thing I've seen all day. Well done!
That color is just beautiful!
Gorgeous!!! I'm glad that the silk held the block so beautifully!
It is indeed beautiful, and the process of making it should just make it even more precious, no?
Super gorgeous! Your's and Eunnie's make this pattern so tempting.
That is just gorgeous! Excellent blocking! I also love my Swallowtail - it's the shawl that I wear most often, almost every day. I did it in black alpaca so it's very soft under my coat.
Wow, your shawl is a testimonial to the beauty of silk and the tenacity from you. An elegant color.
This is positively fabulous - your lucky giftee!
it looks so delicate. i love it.
What a beautiful shawl! The champagne/wine/beverage-in-champagne-glass is definitely well-deserved.
