What a creative way to use blogging. It will be a good test of his command of the language. To my mind, that is what children should learn in English. Can they speak and write effectively? Then they have good English skills. Do they need to parse a sentence? Not really. I can't remember ever needing to identify parts of speech in my adult life. I was an English Major in college and am now a social worker. Being able to communicate is way more important than almost anything else I learned.
