"Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency."

--proposal by Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson

I had qualms before, but this is outrageous. Terrifying.

I heard a CFP being interviewed about this proposed legislation on CBC this afternoon (what happens to you does affect us, north of the border) and he said that basically, as it stands, this bill is rewarding bad behaviour and poor investment decisions.

Without being able to appeal to the judiciary, that is indeed true.

It seems like the threat after 9/11. Give us all the authority, don't question us.

Will they declare Mission Accomplished soon too?

I am so disgusted.

BTW, I really appreciate your increased frequency of political posts. It's so critical right now.

The whole thing scares me. Did you see the debate last nite? Johnny Mac scares me, too!

BTW, Uncle Lynn's answering your questions over at my place today, in honor of my 100th Post. Please drop by!

Well, heck. He got a big check the least he can get is carte blanche to do with it what he will.

This whole thing is just .....well. Terrifying is a mild way of putting it.
