Potato, Patahto...

Which wild-and-crazy republican vice presidential candidate was it who corrected a student's spelling of "potato" with "potatoe"?

* * *

We harvested our pathetic little crop of new potatoes:

Although we only got a few potatoes and almost all were tiny, it seemed like utter magic to turn the crate over and discover these gleaming gems!

Next year: sweet potatoes.

I started purchasing locally grown potatoes this summer at the farmer's market and suddenly found myself addicted. The flavor was just amazing in those little beauties! I only wish I had the space to grow them myself...

Nice harvest you have there, even if it is a small one. Enjoy!

We felt the same way digging up our potatoes. It was almost like an easter egg hunt! Sure, there weren't very many but what there were were surely magical.
